- Go to Start || Run
- Type gpedit.msc (This will open the Windows Group Policy editor)
- Navigate to the folder Local Computer Policy || Computer Configuration || Administrative Templates || Windows Components || Windows Update
- Now you have two options:
(1) Right Click No auto restart for scheduled Automatic Updatesinstallations, click Properties andcheck Enabled.This setting actually specifythat to complete a scheduled installation, Automatic Updates will wait for the computer to be restarted by any user who is logged on, instead of causing the
computer to restart automatically. (2) Right click Re-prompt for restart with scheduled installations, click Properties andcheck enabled. Specify a long time interval (example:720 minutes)for restarting your system following an Automatic Update.
